A great quote from Andrew Sullivan today on why he’s in love with Obama:

On spending, war, debt, torture, executive power, federalism, individual liberty and the size of government: how much worse could it get? Would any far left liberal have done the damage that the Bush Republicans have? And with so little conservative resistance?

I tend to agree.  The pendulum needs to swing back in the other direction for a while.  On so many fronts we, as a country, have gone astray.

That’s why it’s going to be so important to pay attention to policy details this year, instead of just voting with a party.
